This book is designed as per curriculum of Doctor of Pharmacy by
Pharmacy Council of India. This book is a small effort for
compiling necessary information on the course
Pharmacotherapeutics-II (Theory). The purpose of this course is to
provide students with the essential knowledge and skills required
for effective utilization of medications. The covered chapters will
provide concise explanations of both the underlying causes of
diseases and primarily focus on their treatment methods. This will
empower students to grasp the physiological mechanisms behind
common illnesses and their subsequent handling.
Upon concluding this course, the anticipated outcome is for
students to achieve the ability to:
a. Comprehend the pathophysiology of specific disease states and
the underlying justification for drug-based treatments.
b. Implement therapeutic strategies for effectively managing these
medical conditions.
c. Engage in discussions regarding contentious aspects of drug
therapy.
d. Recognize the significance of formulating personalized
therapeutic strategies guided by accurate diagnoses.
e. Demonstrate the aptitude to identify patient-specific parameters
pertinent to commencing drug therapy and the subsequent
monitoring of treatment. This encompasses exploring alternative
approaches, assessing the progression of clinical and laboratory
indicators of treatment response, and vigilantly overseeing adverse
effects.
We are confident that students and educators will find this
book highly beneficial.
